Mandy’s Monthly!- October

Well, since the last monthly I have been at home while the boys have been logging some serious mileage. Daryn hopped in the truck and trailer and rode with the team to the MN weekend as the boys were coming back home. The weekend consisted of some average finishes with a rubber down track and a bad qualifying night.
After a couple of days at home the boys loaded up and headed west to NM and then onto CA. They did enjoy a couple of days in Vegas, but I am sure leaving with empty pockets was not much fun! I finally got to go to a Colts home game and they WON!! It seems my football team just cannot find much consistency ….unfortunately similar to the race team.
Daryn flew back home after the NM one day show after Saturday was a rain out…surprise surprise! Watsonville was a night the boys want to forget….Daryn started 4th in the feature and Terry McCarl broke a u joint starting 2nd in the feature. As a result Daryn jumped his right rear and evidently flipped pretty violently down the front straightaway. It is so hard listening at home when you hear Johnny Gibson’s voice yell “violent flip at the flag stand and it is the #21 of Daryn Pittman” then you wait and hold your breath. Johnny was very quick to announce Daryn was getting out of the car which was a huge relief. Special thanks to Angie Hannagan and Amy Swindell for the quick texting to let me know that Daryn was ok! It is nice to have friends at the track to take care of him for me…thanks ladies! The car was broke into two pieces and even the throttle pedal broke so it must have been a big crash. Daryn is fine and went onto race the next night at Tulare.
The weekend was not good for the boys, but for me it was nice. I went to Memphis to visit my family. My Nanny fixed me a nice home cooked meal, I went to dinner with my dad, and enjoyed catch up with my mom. I have not been to Memphis since the WOO show at Riverside and that was just a quick stop, so it was nice to see them.
Daryn & I both returned home on Monday and plan to head out to Topeka on Friday in the motorhome again. We were really hoping to go to the Short Track Nationals, but the Topeka rain out was rescheduled for the same weekend which stinks!
We only have 3 races left and hopefully we can end the year on a positive note with a win! Chat soon!
