Mandy’s Monthly!- JUNE

Well, I know long time and no updates!  Sorry!  Since the last time I checked in our results have been nothing to write home about so I will leave the racing results on that note.

On the other hand, we have been logging some serious mileage the last few weeks. From home to PA to NC to IA to SD to NE.  As I write we are in a Wal Mart parking lot in Lincoln, NE waiting to head to Dodge City on Wednesday.

We have been doing a little sightseeing on our adventures.  We went to the Hershey Museum while in Carlisle and bought quite a bit of chocolate. The smell of that place was great!

Then on our way to Attica we stopped by Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH.  I am not that much of a roller coaster person, but Daryn is!  He rode everything in the park including the Top Thrill Dragster which was his favorite.  Glenno and I enjoyed watching and waiting.  The ride shoots straight up at 120 mph and then heads straight back down.   The look on everyone’s  face as they wait for “take off” is priceless.  Daryn actually made me go on the Millenium Coaster, and after almost chickening out as we loaded on I loved it.  It was the smoothest coaster I have ever been on.  I like the coasters once I am on them, but the getting on and getting strapped in makes me claustrophobic so I usually chicken out.  We had a blast and it was a nice day off for all of us.

Attica was a bit of a scare for all of us as Daryn crashed in the heat.   It did not look bad and I was not even worried as it happened, but then when he did not get out of the car and the ambulance went on to the track my heart began to race.  For precautionary reasons, we ended up at Mercy Hospital as his back was hurting.  Daryn compressed and fractured T5 in 2001 and he said as the car landed at Attica it felt very similar.  Good news was no new injuries, but we went to Dr. Trammel in Indy for a second opinion.  He gave Daryn the go ahead to keep racing as long as it did not start hurting more than 2 Motrin a day.

It is hard to believe but we are home a total of 2 days from now until the Nationals!  We get our mail mailed out to us and must pay our bills on the road!  It is good to have the Sharpleys to take care of everything for us at home! THANKS!

The World of Outlaws Benevolent Fund Golf Outing is coming up and I have been busy getting that organized.  For anyone interested please email me at darynpittman@yahoo.com for more info.  Last year we raised a lot of money for injured drivers and everyone had a blast.

I know it is only June, but Knoxville is right around the corner….I received the sample diecast and it looks amazing!  We are taking pre orders for the diecast and crew shirt if anyone is interested.  I only bought 72 diecasts and they are going fast!  I will post some preview pics soon so stayed tuned for more updates.

Hopefully we can get things turned around soon!

Anyway, chat next month!
