Mandy’s Monthly!- October
Hello! Well -- race season is officially winding down. We are back to weekends only and hardly any travel for me and Taylor. We are going to Charlotte in the motor home but until then we are at home while Daryn is racing in PA this weekend, CA next weekend, MD the following weekend, and then finally Charlotte.
It seems that all of our friends are having children: Congrats to the Meyer’s Family, Saldana Family, Tatnell Family, Adams Family, and the Drew Kruck Family (and Grandaddy Reeve) on their new additions.
Daryn had a good month racing with the Heffner #27 team. A lot of solid finishes but also a few nights with bad luck. It was amazing that it rained 4 inches the night before the WOO race at Williams Grove and it was over a second and a half off in time trials. We drew a bad number and had an early night, but the next night we timed well and finished the night with a top ten finish. It was a good weekend as Daryn’s parents and part of “Daryn Nation” came to town for the weekend. It was good times with family and friends and Taylor rode a pony for the first time and cried when she got off!
Speaking of Taylor she is chatting away sometimes in Japanese or some other language that we have not picked up on. She is the first to imitate you though. She works on the race car with the tools – just like her daddy! She is continuing swimming lessons and really enjoys the water especially the YMCA water park in PA! She is 18 months old – she is growing up too fast but getting more fun by the day. It is amazing that children learn things so fast. Almost every day she picks up a new word or action.
Anyway back to racing - Daryn ran a 360 race the next weekend with URC leading all the laps except the last one. Apparently a lap car spun coming out of turn 2 and had Daryn check up and then the same car spun coming off turn 4 – crashing us this time across the finish line. Daryn ended up finishing 2nd. The next night the boys went to Rolling Wheels with the WOO to end the weekend with a top 5 finish.
I am headed to Columbus, OH as we chat to work “The Congress” this weekend in the launch of “Cowboy Couture” the new cowboy sublimated clothing line. We have some really cool new designs if I do say so myself. Speaking of gearing up if anyone needs sublimated crew shirts for next race season please contact me at mandy@racegearx.com. We will be at the IMIS show in booth 330 – stop by and say hello! We will have our new sublimated coats on hand and many IMIS show specials!!
Hope everyone has a safe Halloween -- Taylor and Angel will be dressing up as lady bugs this year!
Chat soon!
