Mandy’s Monthly!- November
Hello! The race season is officially over for the Heffner #27 team, but the winter is just heating up. As Daryn and I looked at our winter schedule we have about 3 weeks off with no plans – and about 4 weeks without racing.
The end of the season ended on a high note at Charlotte, NC at the World Finals with the WOO and a 2nd at Susky. Daryn qualified well at NC and raced his way into the dash both nights. The team had a strong 2nd and 3rd place finish with the best in the business – not a bad weekend considering the start of it was not so good. The boys broke down on the way to NC and we stopped by in the motorhome and picked up the race trailer – special thanks to the people who repaired the truck and drove it down on Saturday to the races.
It was a fun weekend hanging out with the boys!
Special thanks to Gary Costa on the article about Daryn in the latest edition of Flat Out Magazine. I finally bought my copy at NC. You definitely captured the true Daryn Pittman! If you have not read it and you want to see the real passion my husband has for this sport and his dedication check it out.
(I had a whole paragraph complaining about the message boards - but decided on my proofread that its just not worth it!)
Taylor spent the weekend with Nana at the track in their motorhome since it was sooo cold outside she did not attend! We went to the Lazy 5 Ranch in NC on Friday and it was fantastic. We rode the horse drawn trailer ride into the animal farm and fed all the animals. They came right up to the side of the trailer expecting food. Taylor loved it and I would recommend it to anyone with children in that area!
In October - Taylor enjoyed trick or treating. She got the hang of it pretty quickly. I would knock on the door and she would mumble something and hold out her hand and then put the candy in her bucket!
The Pittman plans for the winter are to enjoy time with our family at home, go to the Colts games, go on vacation, attend and work (me) the IMIS show – Race Gear X booth 330, race the midget race in Illinois on the 18th , enjoy Christmas, race the Chili Bowl in the Bob Hurley Ford car, and then start back in the 410 car in Florida – Feb 3rd. Winter seems so long but once you look at the calendar it should go by - oh so fast.
The Pittman Family would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!
