Mandy’s Monthly!- June
Hello Summer! I am for sure that spring completely escaped us this year, but oh well its almost the middle of race season already. Since my last monthly Daryn won the World of Outlaws race at Williams Grove, which was great to be there for. It was an awesome night and then we went onto win the next 2 races- Lernerville and the All Star Show at Mercer, PA.
First – WOO win at “The Grove” – The message boards debated posse or woo for weeks!! Really, really who cares….we won an Outlaw race! That in itself is still a tough thing to do. Daryn was so happy to finally get another WOO win. He had told the car owner a week or two earlier….”I promise you I will get you a WOO win”… and he did!
Second- Lernerville- The message boards again lit up…why are they cherry pickin?! Well, we were not Lernerville had a good quality field of cars and this summer there is a $30,000 to win race there so the more time we can work on the set up the better. We were suppose to race Clinton Co for the weekly event to do some testing for the upcoming All Star race but that got cancelled due to rain so our only other choice was Lernerville. Why not “The Grove” you ask…they were going back to handicapping and since we went to Eldora for the WOO race we were going to be penalized. This means we would be starting last in everything or least the back. The car owner and Daryn both do not agree with handicapping. It is not fair to the owners who do spend their hard earned money to walk in the gate knowing the best that they can start is going to be 12th. We will support mainly draw and time trial events this year!
The next few weeks we will be as busy as ever…. We have the upcoming All Star PA and NY swing, Ohio Speedweek, PA speedweek, and then Canada with the All Stars! We should be racing like 17 races in 21 days!! No complaining here….or from Taylor!
Taylor is obsessed with racing. She wakes up from nap everyday “Daddy races?” It is so funny! I will say no racing today and she will say “Hockey?” She enjoys working on the car and especially being in the pit area. She enjoys the guys and does roll call frequently…”Mike, Jimmy, Rhino, Sean!” She also enjoys the infield with her new friends- Gracyn, The Riders and Cali.
Recently we went to the non -wing show at Lincoln to watch and Daryn joined me in the infield. He was like does she ever slow down…I said nope keep chasing her!! He has no idea what goes on in the infield!!
We are both enjoying our time in PA but are looking forward to returning home for a few days next week. Even if it is only a few days to catch up on laundry…it’s still my first home!
Hope to see everyone at the track!
