Mandy’s Monthly! September
I As I write we are headed to PA in the “moteyhome” to the National Open this weekend at Williams Grove. It is PA’s biggest race of the year with the winner taking home $50,000! We have high hopes and hope for good qualifying laps as that really sets your whole night.
Since the last monthly Daryn has won 3 more races and the season total is up to 13 – same as last year! We surely do hope to add to that number in the next few weeks as the season winds down. This weekend is the National Open, next weekend with WOO, then Grove/Lincoln, Hagerstown, Georgia then Charlotte. It’s hard to believe the 2011 season is already winding down!
Taylor has had a busy month since the K-ville Nationals. She has had tubes in her ears….oh how it is for the doctors to take your baby back to surgery even if it was only for 8 minutes!! She did great and since then she is talking in sentences and has had no fluid in her ears …Success! We also took Taylor to Sesame Place on our last trip to PA. She really enjoyed seeing Elmo and the shows were very cute. She met Elmo and Big Bird and gave them both hugs! She has also decided she will be “Elmo” for Halloween so we will see how that goes. Taylor also started “school” ….Parent’s Day Out at the church 2 days a week for 4 hours a day. She loves it ….and doesn’t want to leave when we go to pick her up! I’ve heard horror stories from parents of their kiddos kicking and screaming, but Taylor told us bye and then went straight with the teacher to the playground. She really enjoys “playing with kids!”
Daryn and I have enjoyed going to the Colts games even though the results have not been what we hoped for. Hopefully our team will find some way to at least have a little success!
Daryn also surprised me with a 2 day getaway to Vegas! It was a blast especially since it was 97 degrees each day. We basically stayed at the pool all day. It was a relaxing trip and a great surprise from my hubby! Thanks to Shane & Kimberly, Jamie, Tina and Nana for taking care of “T”….apparently she did not even care that we were gone!
Anyway, this is our (mine and Taylor’s) last trip to PA for the 2011 season. Hopefully it ends up in victory lane!
