Mandy’s Monthly – January
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and that each of us has a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
December was an extremely crazy month for the Pittman family! I fire myself as the “family planner”….we sold our house and moved into a new house the beginning of December. The new house is a bit bigger with a shop so that Daryn can have the motorhome at the house and of course the midget. It was a huge blessing as our house was not even listed on the market! In today’s economy that is unheard of….if anyone in the Indy area needs a realtor just ask.
Daryn, Sean, and many friends moved boxes the beginning of December as I worked the IMIS show for Race Gear X. The IMIS was a huge success for Race Gear X…if anyone needs sublimated crew shirts or jackets please email me!
After moving into our “new” house for 3 days we left for Memphis to have Christmas with my family and go on vacation with friends to Mexico. I have never been to Cancun and it was amazing! The service and food were all exceptional and we will return for sure! Taylor stayed with Grandma, Mimi and Poppy while we were down south and she loved every minute of it. I’m actually not even sure she knew we were gone!
After returning from vacation we headed home on the 23rd to celebrate Christmas with the Sharpley and Owens families! Our Christmas dinner was delicious! Taylor loved her blue “race car” that Santa brought her and even took her bff Olivia for a ride. I think she gave her whiplash, but we are still working on throttle/brake control!
After Christmas we visited “The Perfect North” in Lawrenceburg, IN with the Sharpleys and “the boys!” We went snow tubing for the day and had a great time. It was 50 degrees so there was not much snow, but somehow we still managed to have a major pile up with Taylor flying through the air. She got up and gave the worker a high 5 and then said, “Can we go again?” so I’m thinking I’ve got a dare devil on my hands!
As I type Daryn is loading the midget for the Chili Bowl and I am unpacking boxes in the house…well with a small break right now. Daryn will race the Chili Bowl on Friday and then head to Australia on Sunday. We are looking forward to a fun filled Chili Bowl with family and friends!
Daryn will reunite with Glenno and Steve Mergard in Australia as they are our adopted crew for the #27 car in Australia. Daryn will race 4 races including “The Classic” which will make him eligible for the World Challenge at the Knoxville Nationals. Laps are everything at Knoxville and the challenge does pay well.
After Australia we will begin the sprint car season February 10th in Georgia and Florida with the All Stars and WOO.
My dear friend, Anita Zwern we will miss you! You were the ULTIMATE race fan and always updated with results if I could not make it to the race. Your stories and friendship will be missed.
May you Rest In Peace!
I hope to see everyone at the track!
